Ingredients

1 lb (450g) ground beef (recommended 80/20 blend)

8 oz (225g) mushrooms, finely chopped (cremini or button recommended)

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp soy sauce

1 tsp dried thyme

Salt and pepper, to taste

8 slices of Swiss cheese

12 slider buns or mini brioche buns

2 tbsp olive oil

2 tbsp butter

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Mushroom Mixture: In a skillet over medium heat, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter. Once the butter is melted and bubbly, add the finely chopped mushrooms and onions. Sauté for approximately 5-7 minutes until both ingredients are soft and any liquid released by the mushrooms has evaporated. Next, stir in the minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, dried thyme, and season with salt and pepper. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, then remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly.

Make the Beef Patties: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with the cooled mushroom mixture. Use your hands or a spatula to mix gently until just combined—be cautious not to overwork the meat. Form the mixture into 12 equal-sized patties, ensuring they are slightly thicker in the center to prevent them from puffing up during cooking.

Cook the Patties: Return the skillet to medium-high heat and add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Once hot, carefully place the patties into the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked to your liking (medium-rare to medium is ideal). During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Swiss cheese on top of each patty and cover the skillet with a lid to help the cheese melt perfectly.

Prepare the Buns: While the patties are cooking, take a small skillet and melt the remaining tablespoon of butter over low heat. Add the slider buns and toast them lightly, turning occasionally, until they are golden brown and slightly crispy.

Assemble the Sliders: To assemble, place each cheesy mushroom slider patty on the bottom half of the toasted bun. Top with the bun lid to complete the sliders.

Garnish and Serve: Optionally, sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the assembled sliders for a touch of color. Serve the sliders warm alongside your favorite sides—crispy fries, a fresh salad, or crunchy chips make excellent companions.

Prep Time: 15 mins | Total Time: 30 mins | Servings: 12 sliders

Presentation Tips: Arrange the sliders on a rustic wooden board or platter. You can serve them with small bowls of dipping sauce, such as ketchup or garlic aioli, for an extra flavor boost!
