Ingredients

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

3 cups fresh broccoli florets

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup olive oil, divided

2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

Zest of 1 lemon

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for added heat)

Salt and black pepper, to taste

1 teaspoon dried oregano

Fresh parsley, finely chopped (for garnish)

Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

Prepare the Shrimp: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the peeled and deveined shrimp with the minced garlic, 2 tablespoons of olive oil, fresh lemon juice, lemon zest, red pepper flakes (if using), oregano, and a generous pinch of salt and black pepper. Toss the ingredients gently to ensure the shrimp are evenly coated. Let the mixture marinate for about 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Cook the Broccoli: Heat the remaining olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is hot but not smoking, add the fresh broccoli florets. Sauté the broccoli for approximately 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the florets are tender yet vibrant and still slightly crisp. Season with a pinch of salt and black pepper to taste. Once done, remove the broccoli from the skillet and set it aside.

Cook the Shrimp: In the same skillet, add the marinated shrimp in a single layer, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Cook the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes on one side until they turn pink. Gently flip the shrimp over and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until they are fully cooked through and opaque. The shrimp should be tender, juicy, and overflow with flavor.

Combine Ingredients: Once the shrimp is cooked, return the sautéed broccoli to the skillet. Carefully toss everything together for 1-2 minutes over medium heat to allow the flavors to meld together beautifully.

Serve: Remove the skillet from heat. Transfer the colorful shrimp and broccoli mixture to a serving platter. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and a sprinkle of additional lemon juice as desired. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side for a bright finishing touch.
