Ingredients

2 ripe bananas

1 cup rolled oats

1/4 cup almond butter (or your preferred nut/seed butter)

2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

A pinch of salt

Optional: 1/4 cup chocolate chips or dried fruits (like raisins or cranberries)

Optional: 1/4 cup chopped nuts (such as walnuts, almonds, or pecans)

Instructions

Prepare the Bananas: In a large mixing bowl, peel and mash the ripe bananas using a fork or a potato masher until they are smooth and creamy, ensuring there are no large pieces remaining.

Combine Ingredients: Add the rolled oats, almond butter, honey (or maple syrup), vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt to the mashed bananas. Stir the mixture well until all ingredients are completely combined and uniform. If you’re adding chocolate chips, dried fruits, or nuts, gently fold them into the mixture at this point.

Shape the Bites: Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper to prevent sticking. Using a tablespoon, scoop portions of the mixture and roll them into bite-sized balls. Place each ball onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them evenly. You can choose the size according to your preference—create smaller bites for a light snack or larger ones for a more substantial treat.

Freeze: Once all the bites are shaped, place the baking sheet in the freezer. Allow them to freeze for approximately 1-2 hours, or until they are completely set and firm to the touch.

Store: After the bites are frozen, transfer them to an airtight container or a zip-top freezer bag. Store them in the freezer where they will stay fresh for up to 2 months.

Enjoy: When you're ready for a quick snack or a post-workout treat, simply grab a few bites from the freezer. Let them sit for a couple of minutes to soften slightly for easier munching.
