Ingredients

24 oz frozen cheese ravioli

2 cups marinara sauce

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

1 cup crumbled goat cheese

1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (oregano, basil, thyme mix)

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 tablespoons olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). While the oven is warming up, lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with a little olive oil to prevent sticking.

Sauté the Aromatics: In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Once warm, add the finely chopped onion and sauté until it turns translucent, which should take about 3-4 minutes. Then, stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until it becomes fragrant, being careful not to let it burn.

Combine the Cheese Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, half of the shredded mozzarella, half of the grated Parmesan cheese, and the crumbled goat cheese. Sprinkle in the dried Italian herbs, season with salt and pepper, and mix thoroughly until well combined and creamy.

Layer the Casserole: Start by spreading a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Next, arrange half of the frozen cheese ravioli in an even layer over the sauce. Spoon half of the cheese mixture over the ravioli, smoothing it out gently. Repeat this process with another layer of marinara sauce followed by the remaining ravioli and finish with the rest of the cheese mixture. Then, top everything with a final layer of marinara sauce.

Add Remaining Cheese: Generously sprinkle the remaining shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese over the top layer of marinara sauce, ensuring an even distribution for a cheesy crust.

Bake the Casserole: Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for 25 minutes, then carefully remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15-20 minutes. You’ll know it’s ready when the cheese is bubbly and has turned a lovely golden brown.

Garnish and Serve: Once baked, let the casserole cool for about 5 minutes to set slightly. Before serving, garnish with freshly chopped basil leaves to enhance both flavor and presentation.
