Ingredients

8 oz (225g) penne pasta

2 cups cooked, shredded chicken breast

6 slices of bacon, diced

1 cup ranch dressing

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided

1 cup frozen peas (optional)

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it's hot and ready for baking.

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Once done, drain the pasta and set it aside in a large mixing bowl.

Cook the Bacon: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the diced bacon until it becomes crispy. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the cooked bacon onto a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess grease. Leave approximately 1 tablespoon of the rendered bacon grease in the skillet for added flavor.

Combine Ingredients: In the same skillet with the residual bacon grease, add the cooked shredded chicken, garlic powder, onion powder, and frozen peas (if using). Stir the mixture well and heat until everything is warmed through.

Mix in Creamy Sauce: Reduce the heat to low, then add the ranch dressing, half of the mozzarella cheese, and half of the cheddar cheese to the chicken mixture. Add the drained pasta and gently combine all the ingredients, ensuring the pasta is coated in the creamy sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Assemble the Bake: Transfer the creamy pasta mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spreading it out evenly. Top with the remaining mozzarella and cheddar cheeses. Finally, sprinkle the crispy bacon and grated Parmesan cheese over the top for added flavor and texture.

Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes. The dish is ready when the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden.

Garnish and Serve: Once baked, remove the pasta dish from the oven and allow it to cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley to add a pop of color and freshness.
