Ingredients

8 oz Italian sausage, crumbled

4 oz salami, thinly sliced

4 oz prosciutto, chopped

1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

1 cup cream cheese, softened

1 cup sour cream

1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

1 cup olives (green and black), pitted and sliced

½ cup red onion, diced

½ cup roasted red peppers, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp fresh thyme leaves (or ½ tsp dried thyme)

1 tsp fresh rosemary, chopped (or ½ tsp dried rosemary)

1 tsp black pepper

1 tsp salt

8 oz French bread or baguette, sliced

2 tbsp olive oil

Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it reaches the perfect temperature for baking.

Cook the Sausage: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the crumbled Italian sausage. Cook for about 5-7 minutes or until the sausage is browned and fully cooked, stirring occasionally. Once done, remove from heat and set aside to cool slightly.

Prepare the Cheese Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and sour cream. Add in the black pepper, salt, fresh thyme, and rosemary. Using a hand mixer or a whisk, blend the mixture until it is smooth and thoroughly combined.

Layer the Ingredients: Grease a large baking dish (approximately 9x13 inches). Start by laying the slices of French bread or baguette evenly across the bottom of the dish. Drizzle the olive oil over the bread slices to help them crisp up during baking.

Add the Meats: Evenly distribute the cooked Italian sausage, chopped prosciutto, and sliced salami over the layer of bread, ensuring each piece gets a taste of the savory meats.

Spread the Cheese Mixture: Carefully spoon the creamy cheese mixture over the meats. Use a spatula to spread it evenly across the surface, ensuring all ingredients are well-coated.

Top with Vegetables: Next, scatter the halved cherry tomatoes, sliced olives, diced red onion, and roasted red peppers generously over the top of the casserole for added flavor and texture.

Add the Cheeses: Finally, sprinkle the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses evenly across the entire dish to create a delightful cheesy topping.

Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes. Look for the cheese to be bubbly and golden brown, signaling that the casserole is ready.

Garnish and Serve: Once the casserole is out of the oven, let it cool for about 5 minutes to allow the flavors to settle. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color before serving.
