Ingredients

For the Dough:

4 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) instant yeast

1 cup whole milk, warmed to about 110°F (43°C)

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled

2 large eggs

1/2 teaspoon salt

For the Filling:

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature

1 cup brown sugar, packed firmly

2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

1/2 cup cooked bacon, crumbled (about 6-8 slices)

1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional, for added crunch)

1/4 cup bourbon (choose your favorite brand for a richer flavor)

For the Maple Glaze:

1 cup powdered sugar

3-4 tablespoons pure maple syrup

1-2 tablespoons milk (adjust based on desired consistency)

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Prepare the Dough:

    - In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, and instant yeast until evenly combined.

      - In a separate bowl, whisk together the warmed milk, melted butter, eggs, and salt until well blended. Pour this wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until fully mixed.

        - Gradually incorporate the remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time, mixing until a soft dough forms.

          - On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes, or until it becomes smooth and elastic.

            - Shape the kneaded dough into a ball, place it in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm, draft-free area for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.

              Make the Filling:

                - As the dough rises, prepare the filling in a medium bowl. Combine the softened butter, packed brown sugar, ground cinnamon, crumbled bacon, chopped pecans (if using), and bourbon. Mix well until creamy and fully incorporated.

                  Roll Out the Dough:

                    - Once the dough has risen, punch it down gently to release the air. On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough out into a rectangle measuring approximately 16 inches by 12 inches.

                      Assemble the Rolls:

                        - Evenly spread the bacon filling mixture over the rolled-out dough, leaving a small border around the edges.

                          - Starting from the long edge, tightly roll the dough into a log. Pinch the seam to seal.

                            - Using a sharp knife or dental floss, cut the log into 12 equal pieces. Arrange the pieces cut side up in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.

                              - Cover the dish with plastic wrap or a clean kitchen towel and allow the rolls to rise for an additional 30 minutes.

                                Bake the Rolls:

                                  - Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes, until they are golden brown and cooked through.

                                    Make the Maple Glaze:

                                      - While the rolls are baking, prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar, maple syrup, milk, and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth. Adjust the milk as necessary for your preferred glaze consistency.

                                        Glaze and Serve:

                                          - Once the rolls are finished baking, allow them to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Drizzle the warm maple glaze generously over the rolls before serving. Enjoy your sweet and savory Bourbon Maple Bacon Cinnamon Rolls while they're warm!

Prep Time: 30 minutes | Total Time: 2 hours | Servings: 12 rolls

                                              - Presentation Tips: For an added touch, serve the rolls on a rustic wooden board or on individual plates, garnished with extra crumbled bacon or a sprinkle of chopped pecans. A small drizzle of additional maple syrup over the top can enhance both the flavor and visual appeal!
